Slovenian national basketball team's coach said on Thursday that his team had played well and won its last Group B game against Iran at the World Basketball Championship in Istanbul.
Speaking to reporters after Slovenia's 65-60 victory over Iran, Slovenian team's head trainer Mehmed Becirovic said Iran had played a very aggressive game today.
Noting that today's match did not have any effect in group standings, Becirovic said his team had played very well and won the game, adding they would now get prepared for the second round of the tournament.
Moreover, Iran's coach Veselin Matic said that his team had participated in the world championship for the first time, and he would not describe it a bad tournament for the Iranian team when he looked at the bigger picture.
Matic said Iran had very young players who made very good defense and it could improve its defense in the future.
