The temperatures dropped to -20 degree Celsius in the eastern province during the night and the surface of the Goyne Dam Lake was frozen.

As the icy weather conditions continue to shiver the eastern province of Erzincan, a dam lake, which was owned by the General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works (DSI), was frozen.

The temperatures dropped to -20 degree Celsius in the province during the night and the surface of the Goyne Dam Lake was frozen. Reportedly, the thickness of the ice cap on the lake, which has 35 meters average depth, was measured to be more than one meter.

The dam lake is one of the main watering sources in the region. It supplies water for irrigation of 5406 hectares of agricultural fields.
