Turkish police detained dozens of suspected members of the militant Revolutionary People's Liberation Party/Front (DHKP/C) in operations carried out in İstanbul early on Tuesday.
Suspected DHKP/C members were detained after İstanbul police simultaneously raided 18 different locations in eight different districts of İstanbul. The early-morning operation was backed by helicopters.
Detainees are accused of preparing to stage armed attacks and bombings in İstanbul. Police units seized a large number of documents and hard disks during the raids. Suspects have been taken to a police station to be interrogated.Last Mod: 19 Mart 2013, 11:45
