Germany says 'physically exhausted' team loses against Australia

German national basketball team's coach said on Monday that Germany lost against Australia in a world tournament match today as the team was physically exhausted.

Speaking to reporters after a Group A basketball game between Germany and Australia in the central Anatolian province of Kayseri, German team's trainer Dirk Bauermann said yesterday's defeat against Serbia was no easy for his team and his players were tired during today's game.

German team's player Tim Ohlbrecht also said that the team had put all their energy in the game with Serbia, and therefore, they could not display the necessary performance against Australia today.

Moreover, Australia's coach Brett Brown noted that his team displayed a successful defensive game, adding he hoped such success would continue in the upcoming matches.

Australia defeated Germany 78-43 in Group A of the FIBA 2010 World Basketball Championship in the central Anatolian province of Kayseri on Monday.
