"Chinese regret"

The coach of the Chinese basketball team expressed regret not to make use of the advantage the team gained against Greece during the ongoing world championship in Turkey.

Coach Bob Donewald of China said the team led Greece during its first match in the Group C of the 2010 FIBA World Basketball Championship from time to time during the game.

"However, we lost the ball often and we could not make use of this advantage," Donewald told reporters after Greece had defeated China 89-81 in the Turkish capital of Ankara on Saturday.

Also commenting on the game, Greek coach Jonas Kazluaskas said they did not play well although they won their match against China, and congratulated China.

Kazluaskas said some of their players could not play as FIBA suspended them from games after a friendly match with Serbia.

The Greek coach hoped his team would play better against Puerto Rico on Sunday.
