Greek fighter jets have intercepted Turkish trainer aircrafts in international airspace over the Aegean Sea.

The Turkish General Staff stated on Wednesday that Greek jets intercepted Turkish trainer aircrafts four minutes each in the international air space over Aegean Sea. 

A statement posted on General Staff's internet site said that Greek F-16 jets intercepted Turkish F-4E/2020 trainer aircrafts, which were on training flight in the international air space over the Aegean Sea.

Turkish trainer aircrafts have been intercepted four minutes each in the international air space over northwest of the Greek island of Ikaria, and south of Samos Island.

The Greek jets took off from Skyros air space of Greece.
