Heavy rain causes floods in southwest Turkey

Heavy rainfall which was triggered by flash floods submerged and paralyzed daily life in Turkish Aegean province of Izmir.

Turning to thunder squall in early hours on Monday, main streets, and roads and train station submerged in Izmir.

While the most of the roads and tunnels are flooded because of continuing downpour, traffic is at a virtual standstill across the city.

Meteorologists predict that heavy rain will continue in the Aegean parts of the country.
