Intermittent rain since late Tuesday caused traffic jams in Istanbul early Wednesday morning.
The city's business districts were most affected as people headed to work, with traffic also slowed to a crawl along the D100. Large puddles have been reported along the city's streets, and although there has been no flooding, the rain has caused several accidents.
One of these accidents took place along the TEM highway. A truck driver lost control of his vehicle along a slippery stretch of road and found himself in a ditch, uninjured.
Heavy rain is predicted to continue throughout the day.
