The coastal Black Sea province of Ordu was hit by torrential rains on Friday, with most parts of the province suffering flooding. Many homes and workplaces in the province were inundated after rains that began on Thursday night continued on Friday. Municipal teams were mobilized to clear water from flooded homes and businesses.

Ordu Mayor Seyit Torun said the city has sustained serious damage. "Everywhere now is disastrous. There are serious problems in many neighborhoods. There is very heavy rain. Many roads collapsed due to rain. Our workers are carrying out the necessary work," he said.

Ordu Governor Orhan Düzgün said the village of Uzunisa, where seasonal workers who come to Ordu to collect hazelnut reside, was also inundated. He said the workers were brought from the village at night to a guesthouse in Ordu, adding that there were no casualties but that the flood had caused material damage.
