Nezihe Ezgi Menzi, the highest scorer in the most recent Level Determination Examination (SBS), is from Mersin province.
The ministry on Thursday announced the results of the SBS, which was taken by eighth grade students at the end of the 2011-2012 academic year.
Menzi from TED Mersin Private School in Mersin received the highest score in the examination, and also a perfect score in the end of the year results, making her the most successful SBS student in the academic year. Menzi scored a perfect 500 points on the exam, and her score was further increased to 507.424 due to additional points from her second place ranking in an international chess competition. Students can access the Ministry of Education website, www.meb.gov.tr, to get their exam results.
According to a statement from the ministry, it comes up with the High School Placement Points (OYP) for eighth graders by combining their SBS results, end of the year results and the results of the previous SBS exams. Students who completed eighth grade this year and are seeking placement in private highs school will be admitted based on their OYP.
A total of 1,098,285 students applied for the SBS exam, and 1,075,533 of them took it. The results of 468 students' tests were cancelled due to cheating. Six hundred seventy-seven students answered all the questions correctly, and 449 students received the highest end of year result of 500.
According to the OYP, one student ranked first, 18 students came in second and one student placed third in the examination. A total of 1,042,148 students qualified for placement in private high schools.Last Mod: 12 Temmuz 2012, 17:50
