An international sports court upheld Friday a disciplinary action by Europe's top football governing authority to ban Turkey's Besiktas club from competing in European events for one year, the club said.
In a regulatory filing to the Istanbul Stock Exchange, the club said the International Court of Arbitration for Sport upheld UEFA ban which followed an inspection of the team's financial accounts that concluded that Besiktas had violated European regulations on financial fair play.
The arbitration court ruled out participation for the Istanbul side in qualification rounds for the Europa League.
