The "Japanese Wind at Ottoman Palace" exhibition opened doors on Friday at the Dolmabahce Art Gallery in Istanbul.

The exhibition consists of Japanese pieces of art collected from Turkey's National Palaces.

Speaking at the exhibition, Turkish Parliament Speaker Cemil Cicek underlined that the exhibition would contribute to Turkish-Japanese relations.

"Surely, we would like to enter the EU. However, it would not be end of the world if Turkey does not enter the union," Cicek stressed.

"Japan is not a member of the EU. Yet it is not a country behind Europe," Cicek indicated.

While we continue to integrate with Europe, we must be aware that there is an other part to the world which also has values, goodness and perfection, Cicek also said.
