Jordan blames referees for Angola defeat

The coach of the Jordanian national basketball team said on Sunday that the scores of Sunday's game between Jordan and Angola might have been different if referees had not made any mistakes.

Commenting on Jordan's defeat by Angola in a Group A game at the 2010 World Basketball Championship, Jordan's technical director Mario Palma said referees of today's game had taken wrong decisions in the second and third quarters.

Describing Angola as a better team than Jordan, Palma said scores could have been different if referees had not made any mistakes, adding referees had not ruled for any fouls in the last minutes of the game despite the heavy press on his team.

On the other hand, Angola's assistant coach Paulo Jorge said that his team had won the match as it had been more ambitious and it had played better.
