Lithuania coach Kestutis Kemzura said that they took an important step for championship by defeating France, but it was not enough.

Lithuania secured top spot in Group D after a 69-55 victory over France in Izmir on Wednesday.

In other games of the group, New Zealand defeated Canada 71-61 and Spain beat Lebanon 91-57.

Lithuania coach Kestutis Kemzura said that they took an important step for championship by defeating France, but it was not enough.

Kemzura said they had concentration problems at the beginning of the match, but later the team got back its strength. "I am pleased with the result. It is an important step for us," he said.

France coach Vincent Collet congratulated Lithuania on its achievement and said it did a good job.
