The missile deal with China should proceed despite all obstacles, the chairman of the Turkish-Chinese Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association said on Monday.
Murat Sungurlu said while participating in the Turkuaz Turkish Culture and Foods Festival in Shanghai that relations between Turkey and China would strengthen following China's winning bid on Turkey's long-range missiles and missile defense systems.
He stressed that Turkey would not only export the missiles from China, but also their technology would be transferred.
Chinese firm CPMIEC won on September 26 the tender of a project for Turkey's long-range air and missile defense systems.
Meanwhile, the defense industry's executive committee covened to discuss on similar issues under the chair of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. A written statement said contract negotiations have started between Turkey and CPMIEC.Last Mod: 07 Ekim 2013, 12:08
