The 3rd Chughtai Art Award Ceremony took place at the National Library in the Turkish capital of Ankara on Monday.
Art exhibition and award ceremony was named after the renowned Pakistani artist Abdul Rahman Chughtai and was the third consecutive year of holding of the competition.
Participating students of the competition made paintings on the theme of "arts of Pakistan" and "handicrafts of Pakistan".
Turkey's Deputy Foreign Minister Naci Koru and Ambassador of Pakistan to Turkey Muhammad Haroon Shaukat attended the award ceremony which was organized by the Embassy of Pakistan in Turkey in association with Ankara National Library and decorated winners with their prizes.
Speaking at the opening of the ceremony, Ambassador Shaukat highlighted that as Turkey and Pakistan were friendly countries over the years, they were aiming to improve relations between two countries by holding such events and this was just one of those. He noted, Turkey-Pakistan relations would boost with the set up of the new government in Pakistan.
Deputy Minister Koru added, they were very happy to see the organizations of Pakistani Embassy in the scope of strengthening friendly relations and promoting both countries.
Koru touched on the recent elections in Pakistan and said, "Elections in Pakistan went well. With the formation of the government, Turkey-Pakistan relations would develop much more."
High school students from several schools of Ankara participated in the competition and Busra Aslantas from Cankaya Bahcelievler High School received her prize from Koru.Last Mod: 13 Mayıs 2013, 17:15
