Returning holidaymakers causes heavy traffic

Traffic congestion on Turkey’s highways and motorways have started as hundreds of thousands of Istanbulites left the city due to 7 days Eid al- Adha holidays began to return back to Istanbul.

Turkish citizens, who finished their holidays in the countryside began to return back to Istanbul and other cities caused heavy traffic. Drivers on the roads of Turkey now are fighting tremendous traffic jam.

One of the congestion points was the northern Turkish city of Bolu's Gerede district where hundreds of thousands of drivers are struggling with heavy traffic congestion mainly in front of the Gerede tollbooths.
