Sarajevo-Moscow conferences mark Turkey's 90th year

Conferences held in Sarajevo, Bosnia, and Moscow, Russia, have been held in celebration of the Turkish Republic's 90th birthday.

Sarajevo-Moscow conferences mark Turkey's 90th year

The Bosnian Institute in Sarajevo held a Science Conference on Friday to mark the ninetieth anniversary of the Republic of Turkey.

The conference was organized by the Association of Turkish-Bosnian Friendship "Bosphorus". This is the third time such a conference was organized.

"For 10 years we have marked 29 October to remind the Bosnian public of the very important date when Turkey was declared a Republic," said Board President Rizvan Halilovic.

A similar conference called the 3rd International Science Conference was also held at the Asian and African Institute in Moscow, gathering Turkologists from all over the world together.

The Moscow conference included the head of the institute and Ottoman history expert Mihail Meyer, the head of the Turkish-

Asian Strategic Research Center Süleyman Şensoy, and Natalya Ulchenko of the Oriental Sciences Institute.

They talked about Turkish-Russian relations regarding the Syrian civil war as well as Russian and Central Asian economy.
