Spain on Saturday upset Greece to victory with a 80-72 win in the round of last 16 in the 2010 World Basketball Championship in Istanbul, advancing to the quarter finals.

Sergio Scariolo, coach of the Spain's national basketball team, said bench players had got biggest share to seal a win over their Greek rivals in the Istanbul game in the round of last 16 in the 2010 World Basketball Championship.

"Twice we have fallen behind but the bench helped us come back and claim the victory," Scariolo told reporters in a press meeting after the game, which saw the Spaniards routing Greece 80-72, to make their way to quarter finals.

In the quarter finals, Spain is set to face Serbia, which toppled Croatia 73-72 earlier today.

"We respect our Serbian contenders in the quarter finals," Scariolo said.

Greek coach Jonas Kazlauskas put the blame on "poor offense" against the Spanish zone defense, saying that they could use a longer resting period after the group stage of the championship.
