As winter approaches, Turkey donates heaters and tent reinforcement material to twelve thousand Syrians living in the Saricam refugee camp, outside Adana, close to the Turkish-Syrian border.
Seasonal arrangements both in family tents and in shared areas are carried out meticulously said Emrah Tunc, Deputy Manager of Prime Ministry Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) in a statement to AA.
"It will be their second winter in Saricam. Naturally, we continue making preparations for the winter" said Tunc, "Arrangements for the tents and their maintenance are ongoing. We distributed the heaters to them so that children will not suffer from cold, altough the weather conditions are good in Adana".
Syrian refugees in Saricam camp built up their tents with the materials handed out to them on Monday. They gave back the ventilators which were handed out at the beginning of the summer and took electric heaters.
More than 100,000 people have been killed in almost three years of conflict in Syria and over two million Syrians are now registered as refugees in neighboring countries, Turkey, Lebanon and Iraq, according to the UN.
