The Bosphorus Bridge appeared to be a sea of red flags as tens of thousands of people have gathered on Istanbul's Bosphorus Bridge, the symbolic point of the fight against the coup; where tanks blocked the entry and opened fire on civilians during the July 15 coup bid which left 246 people killed across the country.

The crowd carried Turkish flags and chanted against the coup attempt as the bridge burst at the seams. The protestors also sang the national anthem of the Republic of Turkey.

Along with the bridge, a large number of people gathered at many different points across the country, particularly in Istanbul and Ankara which witnessed the biggest number of fatalities and causalities and most horrible violence incidents.

Another significant city that hosted the democracy vigil was Konya. Previously on Wednesday night, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan addressed a crowd gathered for the rally in the central city of Konya through a video broadcast on large screens installed at the main square. Erdoğan called for unity and solidarity against the enemy of the democracy.
