The PKK terror group targeted a Turkish soldier’s family with a roadside bomb in southeastern Sirnak province's Uludere district on Saturday, killing his father and seriously injuring his brother-in-law, a military source said.
The family members were visiting the soldier who was serving at the Kuresin military base in the Andac village of the district, a source, who asked not to be named due to restrictions on talking to the media, said.
The soldier’s father, Huseyin Kelleci, had succumbed to his wounds at a hospital.
An operation was underway to nab the terror.
The PKK -- listed as a terror organization by Turkey, the U.S., and EU -- resumed its decades-old armed campaign in July last year. Since then, more than 300 civilians and nearly 800 security personnel have been martyred. Around 8,000 PKK terrorists have been killed or apprehended.Last Mod: 27 Kasım 2016, 00:44
