Turkish Airlines (THY), Turkey's national air carrier, started flying to Germany's Friedrichshafen city as of May 3.
Turkish Airlines' flight which took off from Istanbul's International Ataturk Airport arrived to Friedrichshafen's Bodensee Airport.
The plane and its passengers were welcomed with a ceremony and after the water show, passengers deplaned.
THY Director General Temel Kotil, Deputy Premier, Economy and Finance Minister of Baden Wurttemberg state of Germany Nils Schmid and Turkey's Stuttgart Consul General Mustafa Turker Ari cut the opening ribbon in front of the plane.
Kotil stated, the city of Friedrichshafen was THY's 12th destination to fly in Germany and added, "With our latest one we fly to 223 destinations and carry over 46 million passengers a year. There are 218 of our planes in use and we have ordered for 276 more."
Moreover, Schmid said that they were happy to see Turkey's ruling air carrier in Friedrichshafen city.
Earlier, THY stated that the Istanbul-Friedrichshafen round flights would be held on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The price of a round-trip ticket will be 99 euro.
