The Pilgrimage Protocol for 2013 was signed between Saudi Arabian Minister of Pilgrimage Affairs and Religious Trusts Bandar bin Muhammad Hajjar and Turkish head of Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Mehmet Gormez in the Saudi Arabian province of Jeddah, on Tuesday.

Turkish Airlines (THY) Director General Temel Kotil, Turkey's Consul General in Ceddah Fikret Ozer, authorities from the Turkish Religious Affairs and Saudi Arabian Pilgrimage Affairs were present at the headquarters of the ministry in Jeddah.

Kotil stated that they attached great importance to the Saudi Arabian market and would fly to eight destinations in Saudi Arabia.

Stating that THY had flights to Riyadh, Jeddah, Madina and Dammam and had started flights to Yanbu and Ta'if, Kotil said that THY would start a flight to Abha and other cities soon.

"We are the biggest player in the Gulf. We have flights from 226 destinations to Saudi Arabia for hajj and umrah. THY brings the highest number of hajj and umrah passengers to Saudi Arabia. Last year we carried 90 thousand pilgrimages and 250 thousand umrah visitors," said Kotil.
