Turkey's Energy and Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz will chair the International Energy Agency's (IEA) Ministerial meeting, due in Paris between November 19 and 21.
According to a written statement from the Ministry of Energy & Natural Resources, Turkey will be chairing the meeting for the first time.
The meeting, which is to be held under the theme “Global Synergy for Tomorrow's Energy”, will be attended by ministers from IEA member countries, as well as ministers from Estonia, Chile, Brazil, China, Indonesia, Russia, Mexico and South Africa, and EU`s Commissioner for Energy.
According to the statement, "Turkey has actualised significant international energy projects for the supply security of not only itself but Europe. Chairing the ministerial meeting will constitute another concrete contribution of Turkey to the global energy policy and security".
IEA Ministerial meeting is held once every two years to set broad strategic priorities for the IEA.Last Mod: 16 Kasım 2013, 15:03
