Turkey has confirmed that a new high-speed train project, due to be completed by 2017, will connect the capital Ankara to the commercial capital Istanbul and the city of Sivas.

Covering a total of 405 kilometers, the Istanbul-Ankara-Sivas line will lower the travel time between Istanbul and Sivas from 12 hours to just 5 hours.

The project is also expected to create 1,900 jobs, including 280 experts, 1,056 engineers, as well as 520 senior technicians and managers.
