Turkey's regions struggle with snow on election day

World Bulletin/News Desk

Heavy snowfall in Turkey’s eastern Anatolia and Black Sea regions has closed many roads and caused problems for those making their way to the voting booths.

The highway between Erzurum and Agri provinces has been closed, as well as the main road between Ardahan and Black sea town, Savsat, due to a snow blizzard and bad weather conditions.

Regional officials are trying to keep roads clear to allow people to get to the election polls, but citizens have been warned to expect worsening weather conditions and a drop in temperature.
