Turkey’s Constitutional Court will discuss the Republican People's Party’s appeal to annul a law that would close all private tutoring centers (dershanes) by September 2015, a statement released on the court's official website Thursday.
The closing of the dershanes is "unconstitutional," according to Turkey’s main opposition party and that was why they applied to the Constitutional Court on April 18 to have the law annulled and applied to the Constitutional Court as their decisions are final and cannot be amended.
The Constitutional Court identified some legal deficiencies in the first application and notified the party to correct these deficiencies. Once corrected the opposition party appealed to the court again.
The annulment of the dershane law will be decided by the court after the preparation of the rapporteur's report on the subject.Last Mod: 23 Mayıs 2014, 09:25
