Turkey's national flag-carrier Turkish Airlines (THY) cancelled its flights to Libya's Benghazi city until June 15, an online statement from THY website said.
Clashes between Libyan armed militia and groups linked to retired general Khalifa Haftar flared up last month in Benghazi - Libya's second biggest city. The Turkish Foreign Ministry voiced its concerns over the situation in the country on May 20, calling on all parties to act with common sense and restraint to protect the "hard-fought revolution" in Libya.
In late May, militants loyal to Haftar attacked the parliament headquarters in capital Tripoli and kidnapped several lawmakers. Haftar says the campaign, dubbed "Operation Dignity," is aimed at "purging Libya of extremists." Dozens have been killed since Haftar's offensive in the country.
