A drone belonging to Turkey crash landed in an empty field in the eastern province of Batman while returning to base, the officials said. 

The authorities are still working to determine the cause of the crash, which occured in Batman's Cay district.

Civil defense teams and firefighters struggled to reach the drone, which had exploded in flames, due to the thick mud in the field. For this reason, water was channelled through tubes to put out the fire.

The authorities have taken the necessary security precautions, but have said that no one was hurt in the incident.
