A Turkish F4 fighter jet has crashed in the Turkish city of Sivas, leaving a captain and army major injured.

A Turkish F4 fighter jet has crashed in the Kangal district in Turkey’s Sivas province. Two soldiers, Major Serdar Çeliker and Captain Fatih Tüm, were taken to the local hospital for treatment of their injuries. After receiving first aid treatment, they were airlifted to a state hospital in Malatya.

The two injured pilots were found 5 km just outside of the Kangal district.

The deputy governor of Sivas Mustafa Aydın announced that the plane came down at around 15:15 local time and the two pilots escaped by parachuting down from the crashing jet.

Sorry to hear of the loss of the F-4 and more importantly, injury to the aircrew. Wish them a speedy full recovery. I'd like to comment on the opening photo above the article, they look like Red Chinese Flanker type aeroplanes. Mighty jets but not related to this article.
