An internal investigation by the Turkish army into the bombing of the south-eastern town of Uludere, which resulted in the deaths of 34 young men who were mistaken for PKK fighters, has been dismissed.

A military prosecutor who conducted the investigation has decided that suspects Ilhan Boluk, Yildirim Guvenc, Aygun Eker, Halil Erkek and Ali Riza Kugu were not guilty in having committed the deadly mistake.

A ruling stated that there was no need to continue the investigation as those accused had only committed an unavoidable mistake while carrying out their duties.
