The controversy surrounding Turkey’s missile deal continues, as the Defense Industry writes a message calling to extend the time period granted to the three weapons firms involved in the deal till 31 January 2014. This will give them the chance to renew their offers.

According to Abdulkadir Selvi from Turkey’s Yeni Safak newspaper, on 26 September the Defense Industry’s Executive Board produced a two-part ruling. It has been revealed that the firm has been keeping secret their desire to produce a Turkish-made long-range missile. This has made the US rather uncomfortable.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has already said he would consider any other offer to in the missile deal.
