Turkish opposition deputy to be sued for insulting Erdogan's wife

Kamer Genc, a deputy from the main opposition party in Turkey, insulted the wife of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday evening. The ruling AK Party has decided to sue the deputy.

Turkey's ruling party, the Justice and Development Party (AK Party), will sue Republican People's Party (CHP) deputy Kamer Genc for insulting the wife of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

CHP deputy Genc argued with AK Party authorities at the Japan National Day Reception in Ankara on Tuesday evening. 

While the Prime Minister wife, Emine Erdogan, was delivery a speech, she was heckled by Kamer Genc who asked "Do you have any authority to speak here?" After Genc's interruption, security guards asked the deputy to leave immediately.

At the same time, Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz warned Genc saying "don't be rude".

The debate has covered all over the Turkish media on Wednesay.

AK part deputy Belma Satır announced that the party would sue Kamer Genc over the incident.
