Turkish PM receives Assyrian Orthodox Church spiritual leader

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan received on Friday Metropolitan Bishop of the Assyrian Orthodox Church Yusuf Cetin and President of the Executive Board of the Assyrian Orthodox Community Foundation Kenan Altinisik.

The meeting at Erdogan's residence in Ankara was closed to press.

Turkish State Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc was also in attendance at the meeting.

Earlier in the day, Erdogan also had a meeting with Bedros Sirinoglu, leader of the Armenian Community in Turkey.

This is the Syriac Orthodox (Aramean) Church and not assyrian.

He is the leader of the Syriac orthodox church of Istanbul. His nation is called Assyrian, his language Syriac and there is nothing Aramean about him.
