The governor of Cukurca town of the southeastern province of Hakkari said on Sunday that police officer, whose heart failed during a mine blast in the town, was returned back to life, raising the number of injured to four.

Muammer Turker said one of the police officers' heart failed when a mine blast occurred when a police vehicle was passing by in Cukurca town.

Health teams returned the police officer back to life, Turker told AA correspondent.

Turker said four police officers, one of whom was suffering serious injuries, were wounded in the explosion.

The injured police officers were taken under treatment in Hakkari State Hospital.

According to preliminary reports, one of the police officers was killed as a mine, earlier planted on a road, was detonated in Cukurca town.
