Turkish prosecutor Zekeriye Oz, who is behind the prosecution of ruling AK Party loyalists who were arrested in an anti-graft operation in Istanbul on December 17, has denied allegations that he went on an all expenses paid trip to Dubai with 11 friends and family members.

Ali Agagoglu, a prominent Turkish businessman who was among those arrested in the anti-graft operation, claimed thar prosecutor Zekeriye Oz went on a $40,000 trip to Dubai, which was covered by one of his company representatives in the UAE.

Oz denied the allegations, after he claimed that two mediators had been sent by the Turkish prime minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan asking him to apologize for the scandal. Instead, Oz chose to refute the media claims.

Zekeriye Oz is most well-known for his handling of the Ergenekon case, which resulted in the sentencing of a number of senior military officials accused of running an 'underground state' and plotting to overthrow the government.
