The Istanbul Technical University (ITU) Solar Car Team is competing in the 2013 Bridgestone World Solar Challenge with their 6th solar car, ARIBA 6.
The 2013 Bridgestone World Solar Challenge in Australia will host 42 teams from 24 countries participating in what is the world’s largest solar vehicle event between October 6 and 13.
The ITU team, which has achieved considerable results at both national and international competitions since 2005, is going to depart from Darwin in the Northern Territory, travelling to Port Augusta and then finishing in the city of Adelaide in South Australia after covering 3,000 km in total.
Competing in the Challenger Class, the team aims to finish the race among the best with the help of ARIBA 6 equipped with high-tech features such as electronic axle gear, speed fixation, and rear-view system.
The ITU team had competed with ARIBA 4 in the 2009 World Solar Challenge and won "The Best Newcomer" award, the first award for Turkey at an international solar vehicle event.Last Mod: 04 Ekim 2013, 16:03
