The Turkish White Association has opened a new branch in the Gaza Strip to provide care to disabled people.
"The opening of the new branch brings hope to the Palestinian people in general and those with disabilities in particular," Ahmed al-Maydana, the head of the Gaza branch, told a press conference in Gaza City on Saturday.
He said the association will seek to create channels of cooperation between the Palestinian and Turkish peoples and "provide a helping hand to those with disabilities in Palestine".
Al-Maydana said the association will carry out a number of projects in Gaza, including a hospital to treat handicapped Palestinians.
The Turkish White Association was established in 1988 by a host of youth with the aim of offering care to disabled individuals in Turkey.Last Mod: 23 Kasım 2013, 12:35
