Two Turkish soldiers were killed, 10 others were wounded in a clash with militants in southeastern province of Hakkari.
In a statement released on Monday, Orham Alimoglu, governor of Hakkari, said "that a clash erupted between security forces and terrorists in rural area of Semdinli town in Hakkari on Sunday."
Two soldiers were killed while 10 others were wounded in the clash.
Security operations are under way in the region, Alimoglu added.
The PKK, which is fighting for autonomy in Turkey's mainly Kurdish Southeast, was founded on Marxist ideology. The conflict has claimed tens of thousands of lives.
