Coaches of both USA and Iran, who faced in a FIBA 2010 World Championship on Wednesday, said it was just basketball and there was no need to speak about politics here.

USA had an easy victory 88-51 over Iran in Group B match, which was much anticipated, between the two countries that had no diplomatic ties for more than three decades. USA team have won all their four games in group stage.

At a press conference after the game, USA coach mike Krzyzewski said that his team had respect to Iranian team and that he had Iranian friends.

There is no need for politics here, he said.

Krzyzewski also said that his team was criticized for bad performance but he said it was because they were very tired as they played a lot of games in a few days.

Iran coach Veselin Matic, on his part, said that his team did well in first seven minutes but made mistakes in the rest of the game against USA which he described as the best team of the tournament.

Iran made its first appearance in World Championship, Matic said, adding that politics was very much involved in their match against USA. He said there was a lot of pressure on the team.

"We had 25 turnovers," he said. "The difference in the score is normal."
