A young Swedish woman was shot dead outside a local bar in Istanbul Sunday night when a gunman opened fire indiscriminately because he was not allowed entry, local media said Monday.
The Swedish consulate in Istanbul also confirmed the death of its citizen.
According to media reports, the Swedish citizen, Maggie Bogda, was smoking outside a bar in Istanbul’s Besiktas district when a gunman, who was refused entry inside, opened fire.
The armed man was accompanied with another person, who escaped the scene in a car after the shooting, the reports added.
Bogda was a hairdresser, who reportedly came to Istanbul on holidays three days back with a group of her friends.
