The Netherlands confirmed Tuesday that bird flu had been discovered at a duck farm in northeastern Overijssel province.

“The bird flu virus was detected at a duck farm in Kamperveen village. There are 29,000 affected ducks. They will be culled to prevent the spread of the virus,” the Dutch Agriculture Ministry said in a statement.

“The transport of poultry, eggs, used straw and poultry fertilizer is prohibited within a 10- kilometer radius around the farm,” it said.

The culling will be carried out by the Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority.

Bird flu was found at the same farm in 2014 and 2016, while 36,000 chickens were culled for the same reason in Groningen province last month.
