A Cuban doctor infected with the deadly Ebola virus in Sierra Leone is undergoing treatment in Geneva, Switzerland.
Felix Baez Sarria, 43, is the first Ebola patient to be received in Switzerland, the Swiss Federal Office of Public Health said on Friday
Sarria arrived on Thursday night. He is now being treated in an isolated part of the Geneva University Hospital by three doctors and nine nurses.
"Samples were taken for laboratory analysis. His condition is stable, and he was able to call and reassure his family in Cuba," a statement released by the hospital on Friday said.
The hospital also said that all measures to ensure the safety of all patients and staff have been taken.
Sarria was one of 165 Cuban doctors and nurses treating Ebola patients in Sierra Leone, and the first Cuban to contract the deadly virus.
