The Turkic world is set to take common action under Turkey's leadership on environmental issues.
The decision came during an international symposium of the Turkic world on environmental issues which was organized within the scope of the "Eskisehir 2013 Cultural Capital of the Turkic World".
The final statement of the symposium said "There is a need for qualified expert personnel in the Turkic world", suggesting that "Turkey's support in the training of civil servants on the environmental issues would be helpful."
The statement underscored the need for creating a common policy in the Turkic world for agriculture and livestock, as well as having full cooperation in struggling against thirst, drought, natural disasters and desertification.
The statement noted that Turkey and Azerbaijan would become regional powers by cooperating with each other in this regard, underlining that "it is very important for the Turkic world to collaborate in dealing with environmental issues including water and air pollution and Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO)."
