The Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever (CCHF) virus was found in the person's blood who died on Sunday in Turkey's Istanbul.

According to information given to AA correspondent, 56 aged Mehmet Ali Bostancioglu, who ranches in Kavak village of Boyabat district, removed ticks on his bovine animal on April 4. On the following day, he was given serum after he went to hospital with complaints of weakness and vomit.

Bostancioglu went to a hospital again in Kastamonu city, then he was sent to Istanbul with suspected the CCHF. However, he lost his life despite all efforts.

Bostancioglu's blood samples were sent to a laboratory and found the CCHF virus in it.

Sinop Public Health Director Dr. Tahsin Gokhan Telatar told AA that the blood samples test results show us that Bostancioglu died due to the CCHF.
