Thirteen people, including security forces, were killed and 12 injured on Sunday in separate attacks in northern Iraq, according to security sources.
Seven soldiers were killed and nine wounded in a drive-by shooting on a military checkpoint in the city of Mosul, police officer Ghalib al-Tayi told Anadolu Agency.
He said two policemen were killed and an officer injured in a separate explosion in Mosul.
A security official said four tribesmen were killed and two injured in clashes between two tribes in a village 20km northwest of Mosul.
"All of the victims had sustained gunshots," the official told AA, requesting anonymity.
Recent months have seen an uptick in violence across Iraq.
