Two suicide bombers in military uniforms entered the house of 'Sahwa Forces' commander Sad Jasim al-Mashhadani, while he was hosting a dinner in al-Tarimiyah district in northern Baghdad and blasted the bombs stripped on their bodies, security officials said.
Twenty four people, including a high commissioned officer were killed and fifteen people, including seven soldiers and eight members of Sahwa Forces, were wounded.
Mashhadani was not inside the room during the incident and escaped the attack unharmed.
Nobody has taken responsibility for the attack so far.
'Sahwa Forces' was established in 2006 in Iraq to fight against 'Al-Qaeda'.
