At least three people were killed on Tuesday when a car-bomb shook southern Baghdad, according to a local police source.
The bomb, which also left eight people injured, went off in an industrial part of the capital’s southern Bayaa neighborhood, Baghdad Police Captain Nazhan al-Khedr said.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for Tuesday’s deadly attack.
In recent months, devastating bombings -- often featuring explosive-laden vehicles -- have become commonplace in Iraq’s violence-prone capital.
The Iraqi authorities typically blame such attacks, which frequently target civilian areas, on the ISIL terrorist group, which captured large swathes of territory in northern and western Iraq in 2014.
