Four Iraqis were killed and 14 others were injured in three simultaneous car explosions in the northern Iraqi province of Kirkuk, a security source said.
The source said a booby-trapped car exploded in the predominantly Kurdish neighborhood of Rahimawa in northern Kirkuk, while two other booby-trapped cars exploded in the south of the province.
He added policemen cordoned off the three sites and imposed strict security measures at the entrances of the province.
Kirkuk, located 250 kilometers north of the Iraqi capital Baghdad, is hard hit by violence targeting policemen and civilians amid rampant tribal conflicts. This, however, is not separate from an upsurge of violence across the whole of Iraq, which has been in a state of turmoil for several months now.Last Mod: 26 Ocak 2014, 14:05
